I first met Laura through my styling service “The Wardrobe Provocateur” we worked together on creating her ideal wardrobe through the process of revamping and personal shopping, which I have to say was so much fun. Now, you can imagine when I got the call from Laura Pearman Photography that Laura was booked in to have her business photo shoot I couldn’t wait to get started on this styling protect.
Now when it comes to finding the perfect outfits having a wardrobe stylist by your side takes away that feeling of overwhelm during a photo shoot it saves you valuable time, money and any worry of finding the right outfits. It’s part of my role to figure out the best outfits that showcase the client, Laura and her business, based on location, company colours as well her style personality. Every head shot is different, each styling package is created to meet the needs of the client and their business and we always work with their current wardrobe to create outfits, but new ones are required sometimes to really help to tell the business story.
Laura is the founder and CEO of “Laura Cook” which is all about supporting Female entrepreneurs to be confident with money to feel financial freedom, how cool is this business.Because I’d work with Laura previously I had a fare idea of her personal style, however we still needed to cover the foundation of her visual message and style that was key to her brand. During our first appointment before the business photo shoot, we did some wardrobe styling in which I advise the client on the use of her brand colours, how to reflect her unique personal style in the clothing choices. It’s so important to not only feel confident and know exactly what to wear for the photo shoot but also in your future business engagements. For the shoot we needed to create 5 outfits and 2 extra options, it’s so important to have a variety of outfits in order to create as many different looks for the images. I always have my tool kit with extra clothing, accessories and props, this makes me feel a bit like Mary Poppins with a magical bag that has all sorts in it.
The day had arrived everything was in place for a full day scheduled at Seaham Hall with it’s beautiful building and grounds. It’s one of the most luxurious spa hotels in Durham situated amidst 37 acres of beautiful landscaped gardens in a striking cliff top location, the perfect choice to really capture the true essence of Laura’s personality and business. She started off in make-up and hair by the fabulous make up artist Marie from www.ndmakeupartists.co.uk I love this part it’s like a blank canvas that starts to take shape the pièce de résistance is then the outfit styling. Then it’s all down to the photographer Laura Pearman who always manages to capture the true essence of the client and there business. We took pictures in the beautiful grounds giving Laura a styling look like that of The Lady of the Manor, this was great fun using props, hats and outdoors, we just needed a horse, but alas you should never work with animals on photo shoots. We then moved in doors like super women we did a few more outfit changes, as well as make up and hair, using all the client’s business brand colours and personal style to create the perfect images.
Final note, the photographer, stylist and hair & makeup artist are all important factors when it comes booking your photo shoot you will find your finale images will turn out amazingly giving you that vital communication you need in a nanosecond of who you are and what you do.Laura was such a natural in front of the camera, I’m sure you’ll agree the images are truly breath taking.
